Step into the life of the princesses

Art historian Ineke Beeling, a specialist in historical interiors, encourages you to look at the exhibition ‘The forgotten princesses of Thorn’ through different eyes. She uses notable quotes from the book of the same title written by guest curator Joost Welten. How did the princesses dress? Did they have outlandish hobbies or did they stick to the virtuous pastime of embroidery? What were popular styles of furniture? And why did princess Cunegonda have a Chinese room demolished to make way for a salon in pastel shades?
